Job Description
JOB TITLE: Sales Manager
SUMMARY:
To ensure that budgeted occupancy and revenue targets for the hotel are met or exceeded. This will be done by managing key customer relationships, managing a team of motivated sales people and ensuring that remote offices and channels are aligned with the hotel's objectives.
- Business Generation: To develop a plan by customer, industry segment, room type and geography to achieve targeted performance on occupancy, ARR and RevPar.
- Business Generation: To closely monitor competition activity and strategy and modify actions accordingly.
- Business Generation: Strategic deals with tour operators and business partners to increase market share.
- Business Generation: Effective implementation of sales plan and incorporate new strategies based on demand cycles.
- Relationship Management: Regular sales visits to assigned accounts to strengthen relationships.
- Relationship Management: Conduct Site Inspections.
- Relationship Management: Presentation on new product or new offers.
- Relationship Management: Hosting of meals for decision makers and Influencers of decision.
- Relationship Management: Hosting of educational and familiarization trips.
- Relationship Management: Regular Communication with Japanese Foreign Tour Operators through email and tele-calling.
- New Business Development: Plan and Target to achieve profitable "New Business" from Existing portfolio.
- New Business Development: Shifting profitable business from relevant competition set.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Ensures organizational policies and procedures are implemented.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Implements and monitors the plan for rooms and FB by reviewing key performance indicators.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Oversees the electronic channels for the hotel, to ensure that occupancy and ARR are maximized.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Analyses trends and data to develop selling strategies to cope with changing needs.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Maintains professional and close contact with customers, guests and competition to earn goodwill and incorporate recommended changes in services and amenities.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Prepares the annual budget for the hotel and updates at least quarterly.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Constantly liaises with remote sales offices to maximize opportunities in all geographies.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: Responsible for Banquet Sales and Revenue Management of the unit.
- Budgeting, Planning, Data Analysis and MIS: To maintain key and potential customer database for communication and mailing.
- Training and Development: Train and develop the sales force for effective selling.
- Training and Development: Coaching and guidance of sales team on organizational effectiveness.
- Training and Development: Regular review of performance of the sales team, identification of strengths and areas of improvement and providing guidance for improvement.
- Strategic Management: Research and develop appropriate product positioning to encompass changing market trends.
- Strategic Management: Develop strategic and tactical plans for leisure business and ensure implementation.
