Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, and strengthening market presence within the assigned territory. The role focuses on identifying business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and delivering consultative sales solutions aligned with customer business objectives.
The Sales Manager will work closely with Pre-Sales, Marketing, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to manage the complete sales lifecyclefrom prospecting and solution positioning to commercial negotiations and successful deal closure. The role requires a proactive, target-driven professional capable of managing complex B2B sales engagements while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Own and achieve assigned sales targets through new customer acquisition and existing account growth.
- Generate qualified business opportunities across target industries and market segments.
- Drive end-to-end sales activities including lead generation, opportunity qualification, proposal submission, commercial negotiation, and deal closure.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with adequate coverage to consistently achieve quarterly and annual targets.
- Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with organizational growth objectives.
B. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, business leaders, and stakeholders.
- Understand customer business challenges and position appropriate solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Conduct regular customer meetings, presentations, product demonstrations, and business reviews.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing customer accounts.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction throughout the sales engagement and post-sales transition.
C. Solution Selling & Opportunity Management
- Collaborate with Pre-Sales and Solution Engineering teams to develop customized business solutions.
- Prepare commercial proposals, presentations, and solution documentation tailored to customer requirements.
- Coordinate Proof of Concepts (PoCs), product demonstrations, and technical discussions where required.
- Manage sales opportunities through the complete sales cycle while ensuring timely follow-ups and stakeholder engagement.
- Negotiate commercial terms and facilitate contract closures in line with company policies.
D. Market Development & Competitive Intelligence
- Identify emerging market opportunities and industry trends.
- Track competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support product enhancement and business strategy.
- Develop account penetration strategies for key target customers within the assigned territory.
- Participate in industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and networking forums to generate business opportunities.
E. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing teams on lead generation initiatives and campaigns.
- Coordinate with Delivery and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams during commercial negotiations and contract execution.
- Support channel partners and business associates in identifying and closing sales opportunities.
- Contribute to strategic sales planning and business reviews with leadership.
F. CRM & Sales Reporting
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in CRM.
- Submit weekly sales reports, pipeline updates, and monthly business forecasts.
- Ensure accurate forecasting of revenue and opportunity status.
- Monitor key sales metrics and take corrective actions to improve conversion rates.
- Maintain sales documentation and reporting in accordance with organizational standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management is preferred.
Experience
- 6-10 years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets.
- Experience in enterprise solution sales, technology sales, SaaS, IT, AI, Surveillance, Smart City, or Digital Transformation solutions is preferred.
- Strong experience in customer acquisition, account management, and consultative selling.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, or strategic alliances is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in preparing business proposals, conducting negotiations, and closing high-value deals.
Domain Knowledge
- Understanding of enterprise technology solutions, digital transformation, AI-based solutions, surveillance, smart infrastructure, or related technology domains.
- Knowledge of enterprise procurement processes, commercial negotiations, and solution-based selling methodologies.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, sales forecasting, pipeline management, and account planning.
- Strong understanding of customer buying behaviour, business development strategies, and competitive market dynamics.
