Job Description

Job Overview:

As a Sales Manager Government Business, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and selling Auto-ID, Barcode, RFID, Mobility, and Enterprise Automation solutions to Central & State Government departments, PSUs, and large public institutions. Your role involves understanding the specific procurement processes, compliance requirements, and operational challenges within government organizations and presenting comprehensive technology solutions that address their needs. This position requires strong knowledge of government sales cycles, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in B2G solution selling. The role will function as an individual contributor with potential to manage junior sales team members and will require regular customer visits across departments and project locations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue generation from Railways,PSUs & Government Institutions.
  • Identify and develop new government accounts and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Track and manage tenders/RFPs through complete bid lifecycle (pre-bid to order closure).
  • Manage empanelments and drive sales via GeM and other procurement portals.
  • Coordinate with Pre-Sales, Technical & Finance teams for proposal submission and commercial negotiations.
  • Ensure achievement of order booking, revenue, and collection targets.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Monitor market intelligence, upcoming projects, and policy-driven opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • 6–12 years of B2G sales experience (IT Hardware/Auto-ID/RFID/Enterprise solutions preferred).
  • Strong experience in handling Government tenders and GeM portals.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets in the Government segment.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Candidates should have strong networking and in-roads in Defense, Railways,logistics, PSUs and State Govts.
