Job Purpose

The Sales Executive Plastic Bottle Collection is responsible for onboarding, managing, and growing a network of collection partners (retail outlets, institutions, commercial establishments, and bulk generators) to ensure consistent and scalable supply of post-consumer plastic bottles. The role focuses on outlet acquisition, relationship management, volume growth, and coordination with collection and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Outlet Acquisition

  • Identify and onboard new plastic bottle collection partners including:
    • Retail stores, malls, HCCBPL E&D outlets
    • Offices, housing societies, institutions
    • Commercial and bulk waste generators
  • Drive outlet mapping and territory planning to optimize collection density.
  • Ensure smooth online registration and onboarding of customers into the system.
  • Execute partnership agreements aligned with company.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly collection volume and outlet acquisition targets.

2. Customer Onboarding & Training

  • Conduct customer training on:
    • Collection process and scheduling
    • Proper storage, segregation, and bag usage
    • QR labeling and compliance requirements
  • Ensure handover of collection kits (bags, QR labels, guidelines).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries and escalations.

3. Relationship Management & Retention

  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with onboarded customers.
  • Encourage repeat collections and increased volume per outlet.
  • Monitor customer participation and take corrective actions where collections drop.
  • Drive renewal of inactive or underperforming accounts.

4. Collection Coordination & Execution Support

  • Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to:
    • Plan vehicle routes based on customer locations
    • Schedule timely pickup based on customer alerts
    • Ensure smooth handover at the collection center
  • Monitor collection data (weights, pickup frequency, photos, app records).
  • Support resolution of discrepancies related to collection, weighment, or service delays.

5. Target Achievement & Reporting

  • Own sales and collection targets (volume in kg/MT, number of active outlets).
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics.
  • Maintain CRM / MIS updates on outlet status, collections, and issues.
  • Prepare periodic business reports for management review.

6. Market Intelligence & Expansion

  • Identify new geographies, high-potential clusters, and bulk generators.
  • Track market trends in recycling, EPR obligations, and competitors.
  • Support pilot projects and scale-up of plastic recovery initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies

Sales & Business Skills

  • Strong B2B / field sales experience
  • Negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to drive targets in a decentralized, field-based environment

Operational Understanding

  • Basic understanding of logistics, collection, and material flow
  • Comfort working with field teams and operations staff
  • Exposure to waste management, recycling, or sustainability preferred

  • Willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree / Diploma with field experience in retail sales; FMCG preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in:
    • Field sales, channel sales, or key account management
    • Waste management, recycling, FMCG channel sales, logistics, or CSR projects (preferred).
  • Experience working with distributed partners or merchant networks is an advantage.

  • Number of outlets onboarded and activated

  • On-time pickups and customer satisfaction
  • Revenue or contribution margin (if applicable)

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role with significant city travel to supervise operations
  • Flexible working hours including early mornings or extended shifts, if required
