Position Title: Safety / EHS Officer

Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Location: Sojat, Rajasthan (Vopari Plant Location)

Experience Required: 4 to 10 Years


Industry Preference: Chemical, FMCG, Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical

Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Safety, Industrial Safety Certification, NEBOSH (preferred)

Employment Type: Fulltime


Role Overview

The Safety / EHS Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and maintaining a safe working environment across all plant operations. This role requires strong knowledge of chemical handling, GMP environments, and riskbased safety management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies aligned with statutory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across plant operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies ( Subject to Safety documentation) such as Pollution Control Board, Factory Act, and other applicable laws.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor hazardous chemical storage, handling, and disposal as per safety norms.
  • Conduct safety training programs for employees, contractors, and new joiners.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency response tools.
  • Maintain documentation including safety reports, permits, MSDS records, and compliance logs.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including mock drills and evacuation plans.
  • Support implementation of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all departments through awareness and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, Factory Act, chemical safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience in chemical handling, hazardous waste management, and emergency response.
  • Familiarity with GMP, hygiene standards, and safety protocols in FMCG, cosmetic, and pharma plants.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, HAZOP, JSA, and safety audits.
  • Good communication skills for training and crossdepartment coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and compliance management.
  • Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergencies.

Mandatory Requirements

  • 410 years of experience in EHS roles within Chemical, FMCG, Cosmetic, or Pharma industries.
  • Formal safety qualification (Diploma in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / Equivalent & B.Sc in Industrial safety.
  • Handson experience with chemical plant safety systems and statutory compliance.
