Duty
Description
1
History Taking & Consent
Take relevant clinical history — presenting complaints, past medical/surgical history, known allergies and current medications — prior to any procedure or health check.
Counsel patients clinically in consultation with treating doctors, and complete consent documentation.
2
Triage & Assessment
Triage patients at the centre by checking vital parameters (BP, pulse, SpO, etc.), assessing clinical condition, and flagging patients with poor general condition to the reporting Nuclear Medicine Physicians or Reporting Radiologist as required for decision on the next step — reject, pre-medicate, refer back to the treating/referring doctor, or accept for the procedure. The RMO is responsible for implementing whichever course is decided, and for documenting the decision and its execution in the patient record.
3
Emergency management
Identify early signs of an emergency and handle appropriately while ensuring communication amongst all the stakeholders. This may include handling contrast reactions, Code Blue situations, or any complications or medical emergencies at the centre.
4
Pre-medication
Administer pre-medication where clinically indicated, as advised.
5
Sedation
Administer mild/moderate sedation, including to the paediatric age group, to manage anxiety and enable a smooth procedure.
6
Coordination
Coordinate and communicate effectively with the NMT, NMP, Radiologists, Anaesthesiologist and Management for smooth patient management.
7
Documentation
Maintain accurate, same-shift documentation — incident reports, patient case notes, and medication records for all patients.
8
Patient Transfer
Manage the safe transfer of patients within or outside the centre, as required.
9
PAP Smear Collection
Collect PAP smear samples per protocol, with correct labelling and biomedical waste handling.
10
Health Check-ups
Conduct Health Check-ups for patients including clinical consultations, counselling and follow-ups.
11
Training
Deliver BLS training to centre staff per the defined capability-building calendar.
3. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, with an analytical, detail-oriented and observant approach to clinical work.
- Confident, patient-focused and unbiased in handling patients;
- a self-driven, pro-active team player comfortable with problem-solving and open to feedback
- Willingness to work in shifts
4. ETIQUETTE & CULTURAL PRACTICES
1. Be dressed professionally at all times and strictly follow the prescribed dress code, including the issued ID card and name tag.
2. Maintain personal grooming standards; appear sharp and presentable through office hours.
3. “Greet, Seat & Treat” — greet every patient; if a wait is likely, offer a seat and any complimentary courtesy to keep the experience positive.
4. Keep the workstation and surrounding areas neat, organised and clean at all times.
5. Remain tactful and courteous; never argue with a patient or attendant.
6. Never use a personal phone while on duty, especially when handling patients; keep it on silent/vibrate.
5. PERFORMANCE REVIEW CADENCE
KRA/KPI performance is reviewed quarterly by the Centre Manager and Director of Medical Services jointly, with outcomes logged in Keka and rolled up to the COO Office's standing review cadence. Certification currency (ACLS) is tracked as a compliance flag, independent of the quarterly cycle.
