Research And Development - Officer/Sr. Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments for process development, route scouting, process optimization, and impurity reduction.
• Execute API synthesis as per approved experimental protocols and development plans.
• Maintain laboratory logbooks, experimental records, raw data, and technical documentation in compliance with GLP and data integrity requirements.
• Prepare and review experimental reports, process development reports, and technology transfer documents.
• Support process scale-up activities and technology transfer from R&D to Pilot Plant.
• Coordinate with Analytical R&D, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), Production, and Engineering teams for smooth project execution.
• Conduct literature searches, patent reviews, and scientific evaluations to support process development.
• Identify process improvements to enhance yield, quality, cost efficiency, and safety.
• Participate in process validation, risk assessments, and troubleshooting during scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, solvents, and hazardous materials.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping activities.
• Follow cGMP, GLP, EHS, and company SOPs at all times.
• Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections by providing required technical documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing within the R&D team.

Preferred candidate profile

• M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry), from a recognized institution.
• Relevant experience in API Process R&D within a pharmaceutical company.
• Hands-on experience in multi-step organic synthesis, process optimization, and scale-up activities.
