Job Description
Title: Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
Location: Pune
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for power and distribution transformers.
- Develop new business opportunities with utilities, DISCOMs, private industries, EPC contractors, and consultants.
- Expand market share within the region through effective territory coverage and market mapping.
- Conduct product presentations, site visits, and customer technical discussions.
Tendering & Commercial Activities
- Identify and track tenders (government, utility, DISCOMs, PSU, EPC).
- Coordinate with the tendering/commercial department for bid preparation and submission.
- Evaluate tender documents, technical specifications, pre-qualification criteria, and price structures.
- Support negotiation and finalization of contracts, pricing, and payment terms.
Key Account Management
- Maintain relationships with major customers, consultants, channel partners, and government bodies.
- Conduct regular review meetings with key clients to understand their project requirements.
- Resolve customer queries, commercial issues, and service-related concerns promptly.
Marketing & Competitor Analysis
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, tender participation, and market intelligence.
- Provide feedback to product design and management on customer requirements and market trends.
- Represent the company at exhibitions, seminars, and industry events in the region.
Coordination with Internal Teams
- Work closely with design/engineering teams for technical clarifications.
- Coordinate with production and planning for delivery schedules and dispatch updates.
- Collaborate with the service team for installation, commissioning, and after-sales support.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of power & distribution transformers (ratings, losses, vector groups, standards).
- Good understanding of electrical utility tender procedures and EPC project sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand and explain technical specifications to customers.
- Strong market analysis and problem-solving ability.
- Self-motivated with strong target orientation and regional mobility.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- MBA in Marketing (added advantage).
