R&D Senior Engineer

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABBs success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research Development (RD) team.

This role is contributing to the AUPI IDS Division in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

• To provide broad technical software support, training, pilots and consulting services for clients and to carry out the
• implementation of software products in pulp and paper industry
• Digital project implementation in pulp and paper industry
• Work with Project Managers to define scope, features and estimates for product development.
• Work directly on development tasks; provide technical leadership; coordinate with other resources and create high
• quality products within the defined schedules and budgets.
• Work with customers to define new opportunities for plant level applications.
• Should be proficient or have the capability of becoming proficient at installing, configuring, developing a workflow process, troubleshooting the software, and staying current with upgrades, updates and patches.
• Plan and do technological training for customer key users or internal team.

Qualifications for the role:

• Should have experience in developing at least one application as a full stack developer.
• Deep knowledge of Object-oriented programming and Design patterns.
• Working with Pulp paper industry applications knowledge of any DCS/PLC/SCADA applications will be an added advantage.
• Must 10+ years of experience in application design and development using .NET framework, C#.
• Experience in developing REST APIs and Micro Service / Containerized applications is needed.
• Should have proficiency in fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
• Experience with JS-based tools including Jasmin, Bower, Grunt and Gulp is preferred.
• Familiarity with Gen AI tools like copilot is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of OPC DA/HDA/UA specifications and implementing the client using C++ C# is a plus.
• Experience of Relational database Oracle / SQL Server, time series database.
• Should have excellent troubleshooting skills good problem-solving skills.
