Role & responsibilities

• Assess the patient and determine whether radiotherapy is appropriate.
• Define the tumor and organs at risk accurately.
• Plan the radiation dose and treatment technique.
• Deliver the prescribed radiation safely and accurately.
• Protect normal tissues as much as possible.
• Monitor the patient for acute and late side effects.
• Provide advice on skin care, nutrition, and management of treatment-related symptoms.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure quality assurance and radiation safety.
• Provide emotional support and educate the patient and family about treatment.
• Follow up after treatment to assess tumor response, complications, and recurrence.
