Quality Technician

Job Title: Quality & Production Technician Switchgear Panel Assembly Job Purpose

Executes the mechanical assembly, wiring, and quality inspection of low and medium-voltage switchgear panels to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, international standards (e.g., IEC/NEMA), and safety regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Assembly

• Cable Wiring: Route, bundle, and terminate control and power cables inside switchgear enclosures.
• Component Fixing: Mount circuit breakers (ACB, MCCB, MCB), relays, contactors, and busbars securely.
• Crimping & Lugging: Perform high-quality crimping on various wire gauges using manual and hydraulic tools.
• Cable Harnessing: Prepare, tie, and dress complex wire harnesses using heat-shrink sleeves and identification tags.
• Torque Application: Tighten structural and electrical connections to specified torque values using calibrated wrenches.

Quality Control & Inspection

• Blueprint Verification: Audit physical assemblies against electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Visual Inspection: Verify proper color-coding, wire routing, clearances, and label accuracy.
• Continuity Testing: Perform point-to-point wiring checks using multimeters to ensure correct circuit paths.
• Defect Rectification: Identify assembly errors, log non-conformances, and execute immediate rework.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Degree / Diploma or ITI certification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum 24 years of hands-on experience in switchgear panel building.
• Tool Proficiency: Mastery of crimping tools, wire strippers, torque wrenches, and electrical test meters.
• Schematic Reading: Advanced ability to interpret complex electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical layouts.
