Quality Engineer Pre-Engineered Building (PEB)

Quality Manager / Head Quality
To ensure that all PEB components, fabricated structures, welding, painting, and dispatch activities comply with customer specifications, quality standards, drawings, and applicable codes.
- Inspect raw materials such as steel plates, coils, sections, bolts, and consumables.
- Verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs).
- Ensure material conformity with approved specifications.
- Monitor fabrication activities including cutting, drilling, fit-up, welding, and assembly.
- Verify dimensions as per approved drawings.
- Conduct stage-wise inspections and maintain records.
- Ensure adherence to approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
- Inspect weld joints visually and dimensionally.
- Monitor welder qualifications and welding parameters.
- Coordinate NDT activities such as UT, RT, MT, and PT as required.
- Prepare and maintain welding inspection reports.
- Check surface preparation and blasting quality.
- Verify paint thickness using DFT gauges.
- Ensure painting activities meet project specifications.
- Maintain painting inspection records.
- Conduct final inspection of finished products.
- Verify marking, packing, and identification of components.
- Issue dispatch clearance after quality approval.
- Ensure traceability of materials and components.
- Prepare inspection reports and quality records.
- Maintain NCR (Non-Conformance Report) records.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Coordinate customer inspections.
- Facilitate third-party inspections and audits.
- Ensure timely closure of inspection observations.
- Support ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
- Participate in internal audits.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 3 8 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in PEB, Structural Steel, Heavy Fabrication, or Manufacturing Industry.
- Knowledge of PEB fabrication processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of welding standards and NDT methods.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and inspection tools.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and quality documentation.
- Rejection and rework percentage.
- Customer complaint reduction.
- First-pass acceptance rate.
- NCR closure time.
- On-time inspection completion.
- Audit compliance score.
- Stop production or dispatch of non-conforming products.
- Raise NCRs for quality deviations.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Factory/shop-floor environment with regular inspection activities.
- Coordination with Production, Planning, Stores, and Project teams.
