Quality Engineer

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in the automotive/manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product and process quality, addressing quality issues, driving corrective and preventive actions, supporting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures.
- Conduct product, material, and process inspections and audits.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and quality performance against defined standards.
- Analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Lead problem-solving activities using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, and other quality tools.
- Monitor key quality metrics and prepare periodic quality reports.
- Handle customer complaints and coordinate timely resolution and corrective actions.
- Perform SPC and process capability studies and analyze statistical data.
- Support internal, customer, supplier, and external quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other applicable quality standards.
- Support new product development activities, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and related documentation.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, defects, and customer complaints.
- Train production and other relevant personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of core quality tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, Control Plan.
- Hands-on experience with 8D, CAPA, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, and root-cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949.
- Experience in quality audits and compliance activities.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Quality Management Systems.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Experience in customer and supplier quality management.

- Reduction in customer complaints and rejection rates.
- Improvement in First Pass Yield (FPY).
- Reduction in scrap and rework costs.
- Audit compliance and closure performance.
- Improvement in supplier quality performance.
