Job Description
Key Responsibilities of QC in a Pharmaceutical Company
- Test raw materials, packing materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Perform chemical and physical analysis as per approved specifications.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as:
- HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
- GC (Gas Chromatography)
- UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
- FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
- Dissolution Tester
- pH Meter
- Prepare and maintain laboratory records, test reports, and Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct stability studies and retain sample testing.
- Investigate Out of Specification (OOS), Out of Trend (OOT), and laboratory deviations.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain calibration records.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as WHO-GMP, ISO, USFDA, and other applicable guidelines.
- Coordinate with QA, Production, and Warehouse departments to resolve quality-related issues.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, SOPs, and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, UV, FTIR).
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
