Quality Assurance Engineer - Data & AI

About the Role:

We are looking for a Quality Analyst with 4–5 years of experience in Data Warehouse and ETL Testing, with hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate should have experience in validating enterprise data pipelines, testing data transformations, performing source-to-target validation, and ensuring data quality across modern cloud-based analytics platforms. The candidate should be comfortable working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform Testing

• Validate data pipelines developed using Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake, and Notebooks.
• Perform end-to-end testing of cloud-based data integration and analytics solutions.
• Validate data transformations implemented through PySpark notebooks.

ETL & Data Validation

• Perform ETL/ELT testing and end-to-end data validation.
• Conduct source-to-target validation and data reconciliation using SQL.
• Validate business rules, transformation logic, and data completeness.
• Test batch and incremental data loading processes.

Data Warehouse & Data Quality Testing

• Validate Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
• Perform schema validation, CDC (Change Data Capture), and incremental load testing.
• Validate Star Schema, Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), and dimensional data models.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across enterprise datasets.

Power BI Testing

• Validate Power BI datasets, semantic models, reports, and DAX calculations.
• Verify report accuracy and ensure business requirements are met.

Test Planning & Agile Delivery

• Prepare Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Execution Reports.
• Track and manage defects using JIRA.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 4–5 years of experience in ETL, Data Warehouse, or BI Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• ISTQB Certification is an added advantage.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure Data Services is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
