Job Description
We're a UK-based omni-channel jewellery retailer with a nationwide network of showrooms and a growing multi-region e-commerce presence. We're looking for a QA Tester to help us ship high-quality software across our web and in-store platforms. You'll be testing a complex, high-value e-commerce experience from custom product configurators (ring and pendant builders) and checkout, to finance, store-stock, and appointment journeys catching issues before they reach customers. You'll work closely with developers and product managers throughout the development cycle. Whether you're strong in manual testing, automation, or both, we want someone who cares about quality and takes ownership of it.
What You'll Do
- Understand requirements and user stories to design clear, thorough test cases and test plans
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across web/mobile platforms
- Test complex, business-critical customer journeys end to end: product configurators/"build your own" flows, basket, checkout, payment, and order confirmation
- Validate high-value transaction flows, including payment gateways, 0% APR / finance provider integrations, promotions, discounts, and price accuracy
- Test multi-region and multi-currency behaviour localised pricing, currency conversion, tax/VAT, delivery options, and the correct region experience per market
- Verify omni-channel features such as store/stock availability, click & collect, appointment booking, and store locator, ensuring online and in-store data stays consistent
- Write and maintain automated test scripts to speed up regression cycles
- Log and track defects clearly, with steps to reproduce, in tools like Jira
- Test APIs using tools like Postman (including third-party and ERP/stock integrations)
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure a consistent user experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Validate data using SQL queries when needed (e.g. pricing, stock, and order data integrity)
- Work closely with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and resolve issues quickly
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Track and report on testing progress and quality metrics
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in software testing (manual, automation, or both)
- Solid understanding of QA fundamentals SDLC, STLC, test case design, defect lifecycle
- Comfortable using bug tracking tools like Jira
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman or similar)
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ways of working
- Good communication skills able to write clear bug reports and explain issues to both technical and non-technical teammates
- A sharp eye for detail and a genuine curiosity to "break things" and find edge cases
- Comfortable testing e-commerce checkout, payment, and pricing flows where accuracy really matters
Good to Have (Not Required)
- Experience testing e-commerce platforms, ideally Magento / Adobe Commerce
- Exposure to multi-store, multi-currency, or multi-region site testing
- Familiarity with payment gateway and/or finance integration testing
- Experience with automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Mobile testing experience (Appium)
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter)
- ISTQB certification
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You take ownership of quality, not just ticking boxes on a checklist
- You're comfortable working independently and speaking up when something feels off
- You can juggle multiple test cycles and priorities without dropping the ball
- You enjoy collaborating with developers and treat bugs as puzzles, not personal wins
