Job Details:

• Position Title: QA Automation Engineer (Marketplace)
• Job Location: Bengaluru/Gurgaon/Pune/Hyderabad/Chennai (Hybrid)
• Experience: 10+ year

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Quality Engineering representative within an Agile squad, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including refinement sessions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning activities.
• Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify quality risks, define test strategies, and ensure testability.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test solutions for Web, API, Mobile, and Integration testing.
• Create, maintain, and manage test data, test environments, and test assets required to support feature delivery and release readiness.
• Perform functional, integration, exploratory, regression, accessibility, and non-functional testing activities where appropriate.
• Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution and quality outcomes.
• Contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of shared test automation frameworks, reusable utilities, and engineering tooling.
• Drive automation-first practices and continuously improve test coverage, execution efficiency, framework maintainability, and release confidence.
• Define and promote Quality Engineering standards, best practices, and engineering principles including SOLID, DRY, code reusability, and testability.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback for engineering teams.
• Lead and contribute to AI-driven Quality Engineering initiatives, including Agentic AI solutions, AI Agents, intelligent test generation, automation acceleration, defect analysis, and quality insights.
• Research, prototype, and evaluate emerging technologies and innovative approaches to improve software quality, engineering productivity, and delivery efficiency.
• Act as a Quality Engineering advocate, promoting modern testing approaches, automation adoption, and continuous improvement across teams.
• Mentor, coach, and support engineers and QA professionals in automation, AI-assisted testing, framework adoption, and Quality Engineering best practices.
• Monitor quality metrics, production quality indicators, and engineering KPIs to drive data-driven improvements and reduce quality risks.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering, with strong hands-on experience in Web, API, and Mobile testing.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Quality Engineering practices, test design techniques, and software testing principles.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test solutions using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, WebdriverIO, Selenium, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong experience in API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Axios, or similar frameworks.
• Proven experience architecting, developing, and enhancing scalable test automation frameworks.
• Experience implementing automated testing within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code, and reusable architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with source control systems including Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
• Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, test management, and defect management tools.
• Experience with performance, accessibility, and non-functional testing practices.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and production support tooling.
• Experience with AI-powered Quality Engineering solutions, Agentic AI, AI Agents, Generative AI, LLMs, MCP (Model Context Protocol), or similar technologies.
• Ability to identify opportunities for innovation and implement solutions that improve engineering productivity and software quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
• Experience coaching and supporting teams in the adoption of automation frameworks, engineering best practices, and modern testing approaches.
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile squads and contributing to both day-to-day delivery and strategic quality initiatives.
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD practices and behaviour-driven automation frameworks would be advantageous.

Client expectations:

• Resource to work close to UK shift, if possible, can overlap with UK shift
• Senior resources with min. 8 10 years of experience required
• Required to support monthly or bimonthly overnight releases (once every 1 to 2 months)
• Candidate would need to meet high expectations on supporting multiple releases and covering testing across multiple repositories at same time
