The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in test automation, debugging failures, writing reliable test cases, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines. The role requires a strong quality mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with engineering, product, and QA teams to ensure stable and high-quality releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Write reusable, maintainable, and scalable test frameworks.
  • Automate browser-based workflows across different environments.
  • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain test data, test cases, and test execution reports.
  • Perform API testing and automate API validations where required.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA team members to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure test coverage for critical user journeys and business workflows.
  • Track defects, document issues clearly, and follow up through closure.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, automation standards, and release quality

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript or Python-based automation.
  • Experience in web application testing across browsers.
  • Good understanding of DOM, selectors, waits, browser contexts, and debugging Playwright tests.
  • Experience with test frameworks such as Playwright Test, Pytest, Mocha, Jest, or similar.
  • Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API testing, or similar.
  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, defect lifecycle, and release testing.
  • Ability to write clear test cases, bug reports, and execution summaries.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar cloud testing platforms.
  • Experience with Docker-based test execution.
  • Knowledge of performance, security, or accessibility testing.
  • Experience testing AI-enabled applications or agentic workflows.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
  • Basic understanding of backend systems, APIs, databases, and logs.
  • Experience with Playwright MCP or AI-assisted testing tools is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in QA automation.
  • At least 12 years of hands-on experience with Playwright.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch or improving existing frameworks.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • The candidate will be evaluated on:
  • Playwright automation expertise.
  • Ability to design stable and maintainable tests.
  • Understanding of end-to-end testing strategy.
  • Debugging and root cause analysis skills.
  • API and UI automation knowledge.
  • CI/CD integration experience.
  • Quality mindset and attention to detail.
