QA Automation Engineer (AI-First Workflow) Mobile App (Astrology & Psychology) | Remote, India | Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are building a mobile application (React Native) that combines astrology with modern psychology and self-reflection. We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who can ensure high product quality in a fast-moving, AI-assisted development environment.

You will work closely with the backend, frontend, and AI teams to test features, automate workflows, and ensure stability across releases. AI tools will be provided and the candidate is expected to actively use them to accelerate testing and improve coverage.

Scope of Work

• Design and implement automated test frameworks for mobile and backend systems
• Write automated test cases for APIs, mobile app (React Native), and AI-driven features
• Perform manual testing for edge cases and UX flows
• Validate end-to-end user journeys: onboarding, paywall, chat, and more
• Work closely with developers to debug and resolve issues
• Ensure smooth releases with minimal bugs and regressions

Testing & Automation: Core Focus

• Build and maintain automation suites at API and app level
• Automate regression testing for faster release cycles
• Use AI tools to generate test cases, identify edge cases, and improve test coverage
• Monitor logs, failures, and performance issues
• Ensure high reliability of critical flows: payments, onboarding, AI chat

Tools & Technologies

• Unit Testing: Jest
• Component Testing: React Native Testing Library (RNTL)
• E2E Testing: Detox, Maestro
• Device Testing: BrowserStack, Sauce Labs
• Native Testing: Android Studio / Espresso, Xcode / XCTest
• API Testing: Postman, Insomnia (Node.js and Python backend)
• Performance & Crash Monitoring: Flipper, React Native DevTools, Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitrise
• AI-Assisted Testing: Cursor, AI test generation tools, AI debugging assistants

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in QA and automation testing
• Experience with React Native app testing: Detox, Maestro, or RNTL preferred
• Experience testing REST APIs: Node.js and Python backend
• Familiarity with device testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitrise
• Experience with crash monitoring tools: Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics
• Ability to debug issues across frontend and backend
• Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving

AI Workflow: Important

Using AI tools occasionally is not sufficient. This role requires active, daily use of AI to improve testing speed and coverage. We expect you to integrate AI into your core workflow.

• Strong inclination towards AI-assisted testing workflows
• Experience using Cursor, AI test generation tools, or AI debugging assistants

Nice to Have

• Experience testing AI or LLM-based features (chat, prompts, responses)
• Experience with performance and load testing
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment
