Python Tech Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Tech Lead to lead the architecture, development, and delivery of scalable backend solutions for our Retail and POS platform. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, team management, and customer engagement, making it ideal for professionals passionate about building enterprise-grade retail technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
1) Architect, design, and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Python.
2)Drive the development of retail and POS functionalities including transactions, inventory, pricing, promotions, loyalty, and store operations.
3)Define engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members.
4) Lead end-to-end project delivery from requirement analysis to deployment and production support.
5)Troubleshoot and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of production systems.
AWS Cloud & Engineering
1) Design and manage cloud-native applications on AWS.
2) Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
3) Ensure security, observability, compliance, and cost optimization across cloud environments.
4) Implement microservices, event-driven architectures, and modern integration patterns.
Team Management
1) Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 4 engineers.
2) Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and career development discussions.
3) Collaborate with Product and Program teams for sprint planning and delivery management.
4) Participate in hiring, onboarding, and talent development initiatives.

Required Skills
1)10+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python expertise (Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
2) 2+ years of experience leading small engineering teams.
3) Hands-on experience designing and operating production workloads on AWS.
4) Strong experience in Retail/POS domains such as inventory, payments, loyalty, pricing, promotions, and store operations.
5) Excellent knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, System Design, and Distributed Systems.
6) Advanced Oracle Database expertise including SQL, PL/SQL, query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
7) Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB is an advantage.
8) Strong experience in REST APIs, third-party integrations, Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
9) Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications
1) Experience with NCR Retail Platforms (NCR Voyix, NCR Aloha, NCR Counterpoint, NCR POS Solutions).
2) Experience with Amazon Retail Technology ecosystems.
3) Knowledge of payment gateway integrations, EMV terminals, and PCI-DSS environments.
4) Familiarity with Kafka, Kinesis, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
5) AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
6) Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams in global environments.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
