Job Description
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to diagnose mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
- Develop personalized treatment plans for patients, based on their psychiatric diagnosis, medical history, symptoms, and preferences.
- Prescribe and manage medications, psychotherapy, and other treatments to alleviate psychiatric symptoms and improve patients' mental health and well-being.
- Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment, and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or crises.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and case managers, to coordinate patient care and services.
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address psychosocial and relational issues contributing to patients' mental health disorders.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and improving coping skills.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
