Proof Reader

• As a Proofreader, your primary responsibility is to review written content for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and formatting
• You will ensure that documents are free from typographical mistakes and adhere to established style guidelines
• Working closely with writers, editors, and publishing professionals, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and accuracy of written materials across various industries and formats

Responsibilities:

• Review written content, including articles, manuscripts, reports, marketing materials, and website copy, to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax
• Verify consistency in style, formatting, and terminology throughout documents, adhering to specified style guides (eg, AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style)
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, deadlines, and quality standards
• Use proofreading marks and annotation tools to indicate corrections and suggestions for improvement
• Ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency in written communication, making revisions as needed to enhance readability and effectiveness
• Conduct fact-checking and cross-referencing of information to verify accuracy and credibility
• Maintain awareness of industry-specific terminology, trends, and conventions to provide informed feedback and suggestions
• Adhere to confidentiality agreements and privacy policies when handling sensitive or proprietary information
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to address questions, concerns, and feedback regarding proofreading tasks
• Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks according to project urgency and importance
