Job Title: Production Specialist

Reports To: Production Manager
The Production Specialist is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and optimizing daily production activities within the dairy processing facility. This role ensures that dairy products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The Production Specialist plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement, training staff, and troubleshooting process issues to maximize plant productivity.
Key Responsibilities:-
Monitor and coordinate day-to-day production operations to ensure timely processing of dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, etc.).

Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety regulations.

Supervise production lines, ensuring consistent product quality and adherence to specifications.

Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to reduce downtime and resolve issues quickly.

Assist in planning production schedules based on demand, raw material availability, and equipment readiness.

Train and support operators and line workers on standard operating procedures and safety practices.

Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

Monitor raw material usage, waste levels, and yield performance.

Maintain accurate production and process records for traceability and audit purposes.

Ensure safe operation of equipment and promote a culture of safety throughout the production team.

Bachelor s degree or diploma in Dairy Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.

1-4 years of experience in dairy manufacturing or food processing environment.

Knowledge of pasteurization, homogenization, fermentation, and other dairy processing techniques.

Familiarity with quality control systems, food safety standards (FSSAI, ISO, BRC, etc.), and regulatory compliance.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and production software systems (e.g., ERP, MES).

Experience with automated dairy processing equipment and SCADA systems.

Certification in HACCP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.

Familiarity with sustainability practices in dairy operations.
