Product Platform Engineer

Job Purpose :

We are seeking an experienced Product Platform Engineer which focuses on building and evolving the underlying platform, APIs, reusable services, and data planes that support modern digital products, with a strong emphasis on telemetry-driven and cloud-native systems. You will work at the intersection of IoT integration and application development, partnering closely with application engineers, IoT integration engineers, and cloud engineers to design shared platform capabilities. This role emphasizes systems thinking, platform abstractions, and building reliable foundations that enable application teams to deliver features efficiently and at scale.

Job Description:

• Strong experience building backend services using TypeScript and/or Python
• Experience designing and working with APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with containerized applications using Docker
• Experience working with cloud-based systems and integrations
• Ability to collaborate across application, platform, and integration teams
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows
• Experience working with IoT or telemetry-driven systems
• Hands-on experience or familiarity with AWS IoT SiteWise
• Exposure to AWS IoT Greengrass or edge-to-cloud architectures
• Experience with event-driven or streaming data systems
• Familiarity with deploying and operating microservices in cloud environments
• Understanding of platform-style or multi-service architectures
• Experience supporting production systems with logging, monitoring, and diagnostics
• Interest in improving developer experience through reusable platform tooling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Product Platform Engineer, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain shared platform services used across multiple digital products

Build and evolve platform APIs and microservices that application teams rely on

Design and support data planes that move telemetry and operational data from ingestion layers to applications

Contribute to IoT and telemetry integration layers, including processing, normalization, and exposure of data

Work with AWS IoT SiteWisebased solutions to abstract telemetry complexity for application teams

Develop backend services using TypeScript and Python

Build API-driven microservices that enable applications to consume platform capabilities

Package and operate services using containerized deployments (Docker)

Collaborate with application engineers to define data contracts, APIs, and reusable platform components

Partner with cloud engineers on environment integration, deployment practices, and operational concerns

Support observability, diagnostics, and monitoring for platform services and data flows

Identify and resolve systemic issues related to platform reliability, performance, and integration

Contribute to documentation and shared standards for platform and integration development

To adhere to ISMS policies and procedures.

This role is an individual contributor position with strong technical ownership and cross-team influence.
