Missionof the Role: Extendworld class Component Engineering support with extended Hardware Designknowledge through Execution Excellence by delivering highest value to StakeHolders
KeyObjectives of this Role and Required Competencies
Support cross functional teams withComponent Engineering deliverable like Part Management, SCR Risk Assessment,PPAP Reliability review, etc.
Extended Hardware Design support through establishingCircuit Schematics and Electrical Bill of Material (EBOM) from HardwareRequirement, Perform Failure Analysis at Product and Component Level, evaluateAlternate component for products, perform required test and evaluations, etc.
Support on alternate components forProduct Development needs, Part Shortage, Multi sourcing, etc.
Perform Product Bill of Materials (BOMs) Riskand Cost Analysis for Cost, Lifecycle Risks, Auto-Grades, Multi-sourcingopportunities, etc.
As part of VAVE, explore and assess costeffective alternate components and drive Ideation for implementationacceptance.
Interact with Semiconductor houses andbring-in Technological advancement in Components to Visteon Products
Own and front-end assignments forseamless execution keeping it on Cost, on Schedule and on Quality
ISO/TS 16949 alignment
KeyPerformance Indicators:
Componentand Hardware Design Engineering deliverable. Adherence to internal Quality,Cost and / Proactiveness /Contribution to internal Initiatives.
KeyYear One Deliverables:
Rampand deliver quality Component Engineering output, complete understanding ofAutomotive Requirement with respect to Component Engineering, Participate Contribute to Key Initiatives, Generate VAVE Ideation and perform feasibilitystudy of generated Ideations. Build Schematic and EBOMs based on HardwareArchitecture for Quotes, Understand Collaborate with Key Stakeholders globally.
Qualification,Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree in engineering (Electronics / ElectricalEngineering)
10-12 years of relevant experiencepreferably in global environment and in Automotive Domain
Experience collaborating with globalCross Functional team.
Experience of Product Development processand Product Lifecycle Management
Strong MS Office proficiency,specifically on MS Excel its advance skills like Macros/automations
Strong Business communication skills Verbal/Written/Presentation
Know how on Design to Cost, Design toLifecycle and Design to Quality type of approaches.
Project Management basics
Effective Time and task management skills
Flexibility in working hours to interactwith a Global team.
ComponentEngineering Skills:
Strong Technical expertise of allStandard Advanced Electronic Electro-Mechanical Components
Specialization on Automotive gradeComponents, AECQ Requirements, PPAP-Reliability review, etc.
Strong understanding of Component LifeCycle Status and related business impacts and risk mitigations
Ability to understand Applicationrequirements and suggest suitable Component solutions.
Strong Analog and Digital HardwareEngineering background to understand the application and circuit needs.
Ability to suggest better/optimizedcomponent solution with a details Specification comparison study.
Knowledge on broader ComponentEngineering process and Component Change Management process
Thorough working experience of ComponentEngineering Tools like PDM, PLM, Third Party PLM Tools, etc.
Knowledge of cost effective and/orTrier2/3 Component supplier is a value adder
HardwareDesign and Value Engineering Skills:
Automotive embedded HW designrequirements
Analog/Digital interfacing and Powersupply design
Converting the product hardware architectureinto full-fledge circuit design worthy of validation
Designand Development of circuit schematic for automotive product like Displaycontrol, automotive Instrument cluster, In-vehicle Entertainment products,
Review Alternate Components with actualapplication based on schematic and come up with feasibility study
Study existing Schematic Hardwarerequirement for optimizing Components and Component cost
Value Assessment and Value Engineering(VAVE) Proficiency with prior work experience
Ability to understand Product Domain andto Perform Failure Analysis and identify Root-cause on Warranty ReturnProducts, analyze failures, establish FTA, qualitative and quantitativereport-outs, etc.
Ability to collaborate and interact withcross functional teams like Engineering, Purchasing, Supply-Chain, etc. toaccomplish objectives.
