Principal Engineer - Android Framework

Responsibilities

• Continuously partner with colleagues in automotive division to ensure that the planned objectives are met.
• Guide a team in the creation of different levels of design like - LLD, HLD etc. and develop code for the same
• Participate for the code review and planning activities.
• Actively provide support for the software delivery process.

Requirements

• A thorough understanding of automotive system and features
• 5 - 9 years of experience in automotive domain, with focus on Android Framework and VHAL development.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Java/Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Android Framework, AOSP, and AAOS
• Good understanding of Android Framework internals and Android architecture.
• Experience with Android system services such as ActivityManagerService (AMS), PackageManagerService (PMS), WindowManagerService (WMS), SystemUI, PowerManagerService, DisplayManagerService, AudioManager, ConnectivityManager, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Binder IPC, AIDL, HIDL/AIDL, HAL/VHAL.
• Good understanding of the Android boot process, init sequence, Linux/Embedded systems, Soong/Make build system, and SELinux.
• Experience in debugging using ADB, Logcat, Dumpsys, Perfetto, Systrace, and analyzing ANRs/crashes.
• Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, CI/CD, and Agile development is preferred

Qualifications

• You should have minimum B.E/B-Tech degree.
• You should be ready to work from office
• Successfully completing a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
