Role: Principal Data Scientist

Principal Data Scientist is a senior, customer-facing technical leader. They act as a strategic advisor and hands-on builder, translating enterprise business challenges into transformative Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Architecture: Design, architect, and implement complex, enterprise-scale AI/ML and Generative AI solutions tailored to specific customer outcomes.
• Customer Leadership: Collaborate with C-level executives and enterprise teams to develop business cases, establish technical standards, and drive innovation.
• Thought Leadership: Build reusable solution frameworks and reference architectures to accelerate customer adoption of AWS AI/ML services.
• Mentorship & Development: Provide technical mentorship to junior data scientists and contribute to the overall growth of AWS's AI/ML capabilities.
• Project Execution: Oversee ML projects from end to endfrom data aggregation and exploration to model deployment and concept-drift monitoring.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience: 11+ years of experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
• Education: Bachelor's degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a highly quantitative field.
• Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Python and major ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) and experience with MLOps platforms like Amazon SageMaker.
• Consulting & Communication: Demonstrated success in leading large-scale technical programs, translating business needs to code, and serving as a trusted advisor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialization: Deep proficiency in Large Language Model (LLM) fundamentals, optimization of model execution in production, or Agentic AI.
• Domain Expertise: 3+ years of IT or management consulting experience.
• Thought Leadership: Demonstrated impact through peer-reviewed publications, patents, or top-tier conference presentations.
