Role: BI Architect
Experience - 8 - 13 years
Location: Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad, Gurgaon
Mode: Hybrid
Notice period: Immediate to 30 days
Key Responsibilities –
Architecture & Strategy
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end BI solutions, including dimensional data models and enterprise semantic layers (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Define KPIs, reporting standards, taxonomy, and dashboard design frameworks
- Evaluate and integrate modern BI tools, cloud technologies, and analytics trends to ensure scalability and cost efficiency
Data Modeling & Engineering Collaboration
- Develop robust dimensional models (Fact & Dimension tables, Star Schema)
- Partner with Data Engineering teams to align ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse)
- Ensure high performance via query optimization, indexing, and partitioning strategies
- Optimize data refresh strategies (incremental load, direct query, composite models).
Performance & Optimization
- Identify and resolve report performance issues.
- Optimize queries, data models, and visuals.
- Implement efficient data refresh and caching mechanisms.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Implement enterprise-grade security frameworks including RLS, OLS, and RBAC
- Establish data governance policies, metadata management, and business glossaries
- Ensure data accuracy, lineage, and single source of truth across BI systems
- Manage Power BI Service administration, capacity planning, and licensing.
Leadership & Enablement
- Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance to BI teams
- Mentor developers and promote best practices in modeling, DAX, and visualization
- Drive adoption of BI best practices across the organization.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Power BI (Desktop, Service, Gateway)
- DAX, Power Query (M language)
- SQL (advanced querying and optimization)
- Experience with data platforms:
- Azure (ADF, Synapse) OR GCP (BigQuery) OR Snowflake
- Solid understanding of:
- Data warehousing concepts
- Data modeling (dimensional modeling)
- ETL/ELT processes
Advanced Knowledge
- Composite models, DirectQuery, Import mode optimization
- Incremental refresh and large dataset management
- Power BI REST APIs and deployment pipelines
- Integration with tools like Azure DevOps / Git
