Responsibilities
- Administer and manage the Power BI Service, including workspace management, access control, and tenant settings.
- Configure and maintain Power BI Gateways (On-premises Data Gateway) for secure data connectivity.
- Implement and manage data security, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and role-based access controls.
- Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, usage, and capacity (Premium / Embedded environments preferred).
- Manage dataset refresh schedules, troubleshoot refresh failures, and ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain governance policies, best practices, and compliance standards for BI usage.
- Support deployment pipelines and lifecycle management (Dev, Test, Prod environments).
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders for reporting requirements.
- Track usage metrics, audit logs, and provide insights for adoption improvements.
- Troubleshoot issues related to reports, dashboards, datasets, and integrations.
- Ensure backup, recovery, and version control strategies are followed.
Technical and Professional Requirements:
- 25 years of experience in Power BI Administration or related BI roles.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI Service, Desktop, and Gateway configuration.
- Experience with Azure services (Azure AD, Azure SQL, Data Factory, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling concepts.
- Good understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database systems (SQL Server, etc.).
- Experience in security implementationRLS, data privacy, and compliance.
- Knowledge of Power BI Premium capacity management is a plus.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and PowerShell scripting for automation is desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
