PMC-Sierra, Inc. was a fabless semiconductor company specializing in broadband communications and storage solutions. They designed, developed, and marketed a broad range of integrated circuits for communications networking equipment and storage systems. Their products were used in applications such as optical transport networks, wireless infrastructure, data center storage, and enterprise networking. PMC-Sierra was acquired by Microsemi Corporation (now Microchip Technology) in January 2016.
