Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify PLC programs for new and existing machines.
- Design and develop HMI/SCADA screens for machine operation and monitoring.
- Commission PLC-controlled machines at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, sensor, and electrical control issues.
- Optimize machine cycle time, productivity, and process efficiency.
- Develop safety interlocks and machine protection logic.
- Prepare electrical I/O lists, control philosophy, and software documentation.
- Integrate PLCs with VFDs, servo drives, robots, barcode systems, and industrial communication protocols.
- Support service engineers in diagnosing automation-related problems.
- Provide technical training to customers and internal teams.
- Maintain program backups, version control, and software documentation.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Service teams during project execution.
- Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and performance improvements.
Preferred candidate profile
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
