Platform Engineer- NXP LX2160

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Linux BSP for NXP LX2160 platforms
• Customize Linux distributions using Yocto and LSDK
• Work extensively with NXP DPAA2 components:
• DPIO (Data Path I/O): Queue/portal management and CPU interaction
• DPMAC (Data Path MAC): Ethernet MAC configuration and link management
• DPNI (Data Path Network Interface): Network interface abstraction and traffic
• Handling DPSW (Data Path Switch): Layer-2 switching, VLANs, and traffic forwarding.
• DPMUX (Data Path Multiplexer): Traffic aggregation, demultiplexing, and interface bridging.
• Perform board bring-up and hardware validation
• Work on Linux kernel, device drivers, and bootloaders (U-Boot, TF-A)
• Enable high-speed interfaces (10G/25G Ethernet, PCIe, SerDes)
• Optimize system performance (latency, throughput, boot time)
• Integrate DPDK/VPP and support DPAA2-based acceleration
• Debug kernel/system issues and ensure platform stability
• Collaborate with hardware, networking, and 5G stack team

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong experience in Embedded Linux / BSP development
• Proficiency in C and Linux kernel internals
• Hands-on experience with NXP LX2160 Layerscape
• Expertise in Yocto/LSDK build systems
• Experience with U-Boot and Linux boot flow
• Solid understanding of ARMv8 architecture
• Strong debugging skills (kernel logs, JTAG, tracing tools)
• Familiarity with different HW versions of LX2160 from different OEAM
