Job Summary
The Plant HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources operations at the dairy plant, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with labor laws. This role focuses on employee engagement, talent acquisition, retention, training, and workplace safety in a manufacturing environment. The HR Manager acts as a strategic partner to plant leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment and Talent Management - Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain skilled talent for production and support roles.
- Conduct workforce planning to meet production demands and seasonal workforce requirements.
- Manage onboarding and orientation programs to integrate new hires effectively.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering open communication and resolving issues promptly.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local labor laws.
- Assess training needs and develop programs to upskill employees, focusing on production efficiencies and safety.
- Implement leadership development programs for supervisory and management staff.
- Oversee performance appraisal systems, providing coaching and feedback to employees and managers.
- Work with department heads to identify and address performance gaps.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, workplace safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Partner with the safety team to implement and monitor safety programs, reducing workplace incidents.
- Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate processing and employee satisfaction.
- Address employee inquiries related to compensation, benefits, and leave policies.
- Provide strategic HR guidance to plant leadership for operational and organizational improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive change management and foster a culture of innovation.
- Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of HR management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the dairy or food industry.
- Proven knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and workplace safety standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, MS Office, and data analytics for HR decision-making.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
