Job Description

Job Overview:

Lead environmental compliance, water & waste management, and sustainability initiatives across global sites. Drive environmental excellence through strong governance, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration across India, North America, and the UK.

Reporting Structure:

Reports To: Global Lead Environment and Sustainability.

Essential Qualification:

Bachelors in Environment Engineering/ Masters in Environmental Sciences.

Relevant Experience:

15+ years of comprehensive experience in environmental operations, technology selection, and regulatory compliance, with a proven track record in resolving complex technical and operational environmental challenges. Experience in equipment selection, process optimization, and providing expert consultancy on environmental matters is highly desirable.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

1. Environmental Compliance & Governance:

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across India, NA, and UK.

- Drive environmental governance frameworks, KPIs, and performance monitoring.

- Lead statutory approvals, permits, and regulatory inspections readiness.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies (CPCB, SPCB, MoEFCC, and global regulators).

2. Environmental Excellence:

- Establish and drive a Corporate Environmental Excellence Program.

- Monitor key environmental parameters (air, water, waste, energy).

- Set up regional governance mechanisms with leadership for performance reviews.

- Drive continuous improvement, benchmarking, and best practice sharing.

3. Water & Wastewater Management:

- Oversee and optimize ETP, STP, WTP, ZLD, and MEE systems across sites.

- Ensure efficient operation, compliance, and performance of treatment systems.

- Lead water stewardship and conservation initiatives.

4. Sustainability & Resource Optimization:

- Drive water, waste, and energy optimization projects with Engineering & EHS teams.

- Support GHG reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.

- Implement EIA/EMP commitments and environmental safeguards.

5. Waste Management:

- Ensure compliant management of hazardous & non-hazardous waste.

- Drive waste reduction, recycling, and circular economy practices.

6. Cross-Functional & Site Support:

- Partner with Engineering, EHS, and Site teams to implement initiatives.

- Provide technical support and conduct audits across locations.

- Ensure robust environmental reporting and performance tracking.

Key Competencies:

- Hands-on experience in ETP, STP, WTP, ZLD, MEE.

- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and compliance systems.

- Experience in water stewardship, waste management, sustainability.

- Strong leadership & stakeholder management.

- Cross-functional collaboration.

- Analytical and execution-focused.
