Title: Pharmacy Incharge / Assistant Manager
Role Responsibilities
- Own on-site pharmacy operations: supervise dispensing, ensure accurate prescription processing, and maintain high service quality at all shifts.
- Manage inventory lifecycle: lead procurement, implement FIFO/expiry controls, reconcile stock, and minimise stockouts and overstocking.
- Ensure regulatory compliance: maintain records and documentation in line with the Drugs Cosmetics Act and state pharmacy council requirements; support audits and inspections.
- Lead and develop pharmacy staff: schedule rosters, train pharmacists and assistants on SOPs, and enforce safe medication handling practices.
- Oversee controlled substances and quality assurance: implement secure storage, authorised access, dispensing logs, and periodic reconciliations.
- Drive operational efficiency: optimise POS/billing workflows, implement inventory-management best practices, and collaborate with clinical teams on medication counselling and adherence initiatives.
Skills Qualifications
Must-Have
- Registered Pharmacist with a State Pharmacy Council (D.Pharm/B.Pharm)
- Proven hands-on experience in retail or hospital pharmacy operations and inventory management
- Strong working knowledge of the Drugs Cosmetics Act and controlled-substance regulations
- Proficiency with pharmacy inventory management systems and POS/billing software
- Demonstrable experience in stock reconciliation, expiry management, and procurement coordination
- Ability to provide patient counselling and basic medication therapy management
Preferred
- Experience with e-prescription and e-pharmacy platforms
- Previous role as Pharmacy Incharge or Pharmacy Manager in a multi-outlet setup
- Training or certification in quality systems / pharmacy audit practices
