Role & responsibilities :
Performance testing is a specialized discipline focused on assessing system performance metrics like speed and scalability. It ensures that applications meet scalability, stability, and speed requirements under load. Key tasks include creating test plans, developing scripts, executing load tests, and analyzing results. Collaboration with developers, QA engineers, and system admins is essential for identifying bottlenecks. Knowledge of tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Locust, and K6 is a core competency. Performance testers must also monitor infrastructure metrics (CPU, memory, DB queries) and clear reporting and communication of findings help stakeholders make informed release decisions
Preferred candidate profile : A candidate preferred for performance testing is one who has a strong understanding of performance metrics, the ability to identify and address performance bottlenecks, and experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling. They should also be familiar with the performance testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, and reporting. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to performance optimization.
