Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and execute performance, load, stress, spike, soak, scalability, and failover testing for cloud-native, microservices-based healthcare applications.
  • Develop realistic workload models and end-to-end user journeys based on business scenarios, SLAs, and capacity requirements.
  • Create and maintain k6 performance scripts for REST, gRPC, WebSocket, and GraphQL APIs, including correlation, parameterization, checks, thresholds, and think-time modeling.
  • Perform performance testing on Microsoft Azure and AKS/Kubernetes, including HPA and Cluster Autoscaler validation.
  • Integrate performance tests into Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines with automated performance thresholds and quality gates.
  • Monitor and analyze application performance using Azure Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across application, microservices, containers, databases, Redis cache, storage, and network layers.
  • Analyze Azure SQL performance using execution plans, Query Store, DMVs, wait statistics, and indexing strategies.
  • Analyze Redis cache performance, including cache hit/miss ratio, eviction behavior, latency, and connection pool utilization.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for CPU, memory, GC, thread pool, database, cache, network, and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Validate performance impact of HA, DR, backup/restore, TDE, replication, and autoscaling scenarios.
  • Prepare clear technical and executive performance reports covering findings, risks, bottlenecks, SLA breaches, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Development, QA, DevOps, SRE, and business teams to define performance strategies and resolve identified issues.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • 58 years of experience in Performance Testing/Performance Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with k6 and performance test scripting.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience testing microservices in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, AKS/Kubernetes, Azure Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL.
  • Proven experience with load, stress, spike, soak, scalability, and failover testing.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs and exposure to gRPC, WebSockets, GraphQL, OAuth2/OIDC, and Entra ID.
  • Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Git, YAML, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Experience integrating performance testing into Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus/Azure Managed Prometheus, and observability practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting Azure SQL and Redis performance and performing end-to-end root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API gateways, resiliency patterns, retries, circuit breakers, throttling, and autoscaling.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
