Patent Agent (Electrical or Electronics)

Role & responsibilities

• Manage clients' patent portfolios;
• Advise clients on patent prosecution strategies and related matters;
• Draft and file responses to Examination Reports and Hearing Notices, including preparation of suitable claim amendments to address objections raised by the Indian Patent Office;
• Attend and represent clients at hearings before the Controllers of the Indian Patent Office in connection with patent prosecution matters;
• Filing of patent applications, Requests for Examination, grant formalities, and Working Statements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Holds a science degree (either Electrical or Electronics);
• (MANDATORY) Must be a Registered Indian Patent Agent (Candidates who are 'not' registered Indian Patent Agents are requested NOT to apply);
• Minimum three years of relevant post-qualification experience in Indian patent filing and prosecution, with a strong understanding of patent law and prosecution practice;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and general computer applications. Familiarity with AI-assisted research, drafting, and productivity tools will be an advantage;
• Comfortable working in a fully paperless and technology-driven environment, including the use of customized workflow and case-management software.
