Job Description
Role Summary: The Optical Sales Executive is the bridge between clinical eye care and the retail experience. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them navigate their eyewear options based on their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style. This role requires a balance of strong salesmanship, exceptional customer service, and technical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Sales
- Needs Assessment: Greet customers, review their optical prescriptions, and ask targeted questions to understand their daily activities, visual needs, and style preferences.
- Product Recommendation: Expertly match customers with appropriate frames based on their face shape, complexion, and prescription requirements (e.g., ensuring frames are suitable for progressive lenses).
- Lens Consultation: Explain and recommend lens materials, designs, and protective coatings (such as anti-reflective, blue-light blocking, and photochromic lenses) to enhance the customer's vision and increase the average order value.
- Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed individual and store sales targets while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.
Technical & Clinical Support
- Precise Measurements: Take accurate facial and optical measurements, including Pupillary Distance (PD) and segment heights, to ensure lenses are manufactured and fitted perfectly.
- Frame Fitting & Dispensing: Adjust and fit completed eyewear to the customers face upon delivery, ensuring optimal comfort and vision alignment.
- Repairs & Maintenance: Perform minor frame repairs, such as replacing screws, adjusting nose pads, and reshaping bent temples.
- Optometrist Liaison: Coordinate smoothly with the in-house optometrist, managing patient flow and scheduling eye exams.
Store Operations & Inventory
- Visual Merchandising: Ensure all frame displays are clean, fully stocked, and organized according to brand guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Track stock levels, assist with physical inventory counts, and process incoming deliveries from optical labs or manufacturers.
- Point of Sale (POS): Process payments, handle insurance claims (if applicable), and maintain accurate patient records in the store's database.
