Operation Theatre Technician

Role & responsibilities

• Pre-operative Prep: Set up surgical trays, sterilize instruments, and prepare anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices.
• Intra-operative Assistance: Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments, operating equipment (like C-ARM machines or cautery units), and ensuring a completely sterile field.
• Patient Handling: Assist in shifting patients to and from the OT, positioning them correctly for surgery, and applying safety restraints.
• Post-operative Duties: Clean and disinfect the operating room, autoclave surgical tools, and restock necessary medical supplies.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: A diploma or certification in Operation Theatre Technology.
• Core Skills: Proficiency in aseptic techniques, strong knowledge of surgical tools, and the ability to work long hours in high-pressure environments.
• Soft Skills: Quick decision-making, physical stamina, and the ability to remain calm during medical emergencies.
