Job Description
Role Purpose
To perform concurrent audits covering the complete loan lifecycle, from customer sourcing and onboarding, credit appraisal, FCU, legal, technical and disbursement operation ensuring adherence to product policy, regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct concurrent audits of the end-to-end loan lifecycle, covering sourcing, customer onboarding, credit appraisal, sanction, documentation, legal, technical and disbursement
- Verify compliance with RBI regulations, internal credit policies, SOPs, approval matrices, delegation matrix, product policies and adherence to operational guidelines across all stages of the lending process.
- Review customer onboarding and KYC documentation, ensuring completeness, authenticity, regulatory compliance, CKYC adherence, and timely closure of KYC-related exceptions.
- Examine credit underwriting processes, including screening alerts, personal discussions, field investigations, risk assessments, approval justifications, policy deviations, and credit committee approvals
- Validate legal, technical, FCU, and other due diligence reports to assess adherence to approved credit and risk management frameworks
- Review loan documentation, sanction terms, pricing approvals, insurance requirements, collateral documentation, OTC/PDD compliance, and document management controls.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of loan disbursements, system entries, customer communications, bureau/NESL reporting, and post-disbursement compliance requirements.
- Assess NACH registration process and collection of SPDCs.
- Perform sample-based testing of loan files and transactions to identify control gaps, policy exceptions, operational errors, documentation deficiencies, and potential fraud indicators.
- Track audit observations, verify implementation of corrective actions, and report unresolved issues and recurring exceptions to management on a timely basis.
- Prepare audit working papers, exception reports, dashboards, and management reports highlighting key risks, trends, and control weaknesses.
- Ensure that all the audit papers, evidence, reports are properly documented.
- Coordinate with Operations, Credit, Sales, FCU, , Legal, Technical, and other stakeholders to facilitate audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Following up on Action Tracking Reports
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: BCOM, MCOM or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 13 years of experience in audit working with CA firms, NBFCs, or Banks. Candidates who have experience more than 3 years will be preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of NBFC regulatory framework and RBI circulars.
- Understanding of the end-to-end loan lifecycle, including sourcing, onboarding, credit appraisal, underwriting, legal, technical and disbursement process
- Expertise in identifying control gaps, policy deviations, operational risks, and fraud indicators through transaction testing and document reviews.
- Effective report writing and presentation skills.
