Networking/Infrastructure Engineer

Role & responsibilities :

We need an experienced engineer to support the development and lifecycle management of a medical device computing platform comprising:

• HP Enterprise Servers
• Virtual Machines (Windows-based)
• NAS Storage
• Network Management Systems
• Managed Network Switches
• UPS
• Windows Operating Systems
• Cybersecurity Controls

Key Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and maintain infrastructure solutions across server, storage, networking, virtualisation, and operating system domains.
• Support hardware refreshes, OS upgrades, firmware updates, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAS, network switches, UPS devices, and Windows-based platforms.
• Assess technical impacts of infrastructure changes and support verification activities.
• Contribute to cybersecurity hardening, patch management, monitoring, and system reliability improvements.
• Produce technical documentation, design artefacts, impact assessments, and implementation plans.

Essential Skills

• Hardware and firmware lifecycle management
• Strong systems engineering mindset
• Strong in windows environment
• Python & PowerShell scripting and automation
• Windows Server and Windows Enterprise administration
• Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualisation
• Operating system image generation, deployment, validation and upgrade

experience

• NAS/storage technologies
• Managed switches and networking management fundamentals
• Infrastructure troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Desirable Skills

• Medical device, aerospace, Defence, rail, or other regulated industry experience
• Cybersecurity technologies and hardening practices
• Requirements management and verification activities
• Familiarity with design control, risk management, and change control processes

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on engineer capable of owning infrastructure work packages end-to-end, including design, implementation, verification, and technical documentation. The candidate should be comfortable working across multiple technologies rather than specializing in a single domain.

Preferred Experience: 8+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering within enterprise or regulated environments.
