Must Have :

Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS , and VPNs
Hands on - experience with firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA , Fortinet (FortiGate) , Palo Alto , and Sophos Firewall
Experience with proxy servers and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
Solid understanding of core security concepts , including access control , authentication, encryption , and vulnerability management .

Role & responsibilities :

Manage and update firewall rule bases, including system/group definitions and authentication configurations at user, client, and session levels
Administer firewall security policies, including system backups, alerts, monitoring, and logging functions
Configure and maintain security policies for network infrastructure following proper change management processes
Perform security policy rule administration and maintain regular configuration backups
Proactively update and manage security device signatures
Ensure log rotation, monitoring, and housekeeping of security device logs while maintaining optimal disk space utilization
Design and implement proper network zoning architecture, with periodic review of security policies
Configure and manage IPSEC VPNs (site-to-site and remote access)
Perform network device hardening, configuration backups, and ongoing device management
Handle log management and security monitoring activities
Detect and mitigate WLAN attacks and perform WLAN configuration optimization
Monitor and manage network configurations such as IP addressing, subnet masks, DNS settings, and IPSLA, ensuring adherence to change management processes
Monitor existing IOS versions and installed patches; plan and execute IOS upgrades after validation in staging/incubation environments before rolling out in production.
