Role Overview
We are looking for an L1 Network Engineer to support Routing & Switching operations for a BFSI Network Integration project. The role involves monitoring, basic troubleshooting, incident handling, and coordination with L2/L3 teams while adhering to strict BFSI security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network infrastructure including routers, switches, and VPN devices in a BFSI environment.
- Perform L1 troubleshooting for Routing & Switching related incidents and service requests.
- Handle and resolve basic network issues related to LAN, WAN, MPLS, and VPN within defined SLAs.
- Monitor and support IPSec VPN tunnels and escalate issues as required.
- Perform initial diagnosis, log incidents, and coordinate with OEM TAC / L2 / L3 teams for resolution.
- Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and follow ITIL processes.
- Support change activities such as basic configuration validation, post-change monitoring, and rollback checks under supervision.
- Maintain incident records, daily reports, and shift handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with BFSI security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals of Routing & Switching
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Model, VLANs, STP
- Hands-on exposure to MPLS networks
- Working knowledge of IPSec VPN (site-to-site / basic concepts)
- Experience on OEM devices – Cisco and/or Juniper
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to BFSI / Banking network environments
- Basic understanding of Firewall concepts ( parent's overview )
- ITIL awareness or certification (preferred)
- Experience working in 24x7 NOC operations

- Ability to work in shift-based operations
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in network domain
- Ability to follow processes and escalate appropriately
