Network Engineer L1

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Provide Level 1 support for network-related issues, including troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity problems.
• Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and related network devices.
• Perform basic network configurations such as VLANs, IP addressing, routing, and switching.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level engineers (L2/L3) when required.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations, incidents, and changes.
• Assist in network upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Respond to alerts and incidents within defined SLAs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and security standards

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in network support or administration.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking concepts and devices.
• Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
• Familiarity with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, RIP).
• Knowledge of switching technologies including VLANs, STP, and trunking.
• Basic understanding of firewall concepts and network security.
• Experience with network monitoring tools. Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
