Role & responsibilities
Please find below the skill requirements for the replacement position: Core Skills & Technical Knowledge: Installation, termination, labeling, and testing of CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and UTP copper cabling. Knowledge of fiber optic cabling, including routing, splicing, patching, and termination. Proficiency in using cable certifiers, tone generators, cable testers, mustimeters, and other network testing tools. Ability to perform end-to-end cable testing, fault isolation, and troubleshooting. Experience in network hardware replacement, including switches, patch panels, SFPs, and related components. Troubleshooting of network connectivity issues from user desk to network switch level. Knowledge of switch port verification, patching activities, and basic network diagnostics. Understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices. Ability to coordinate with users and vendors during network-related incidents and installations. Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of LAN networking concepts (VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS). Experience with Cisco network infrastructure environments. Good documentation.
