Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement the organizations local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network segments according to business requirements and best practices.
• Network Device Configuration: Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points, to support efficient data transmission and secure network communication.
• Network Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks or performance issues, and proactively optimize the network to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
• Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, network outages, and performance degradation, in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Network Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Network Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute network infrastructure upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Network Performance Analysis: Analyse network traffic patterns and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and capacity planning.
• Network Policy and Compliance: Ensure that the organizations network infrastructure adheres to security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Vendor Management: Interact with network equipment vendors and service providers to procure network hardware, software, and services as needed.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as IT, security, and application development, to support their network-related needs and projects.
