Job Description

Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer Level 2 (Data Center) to join our Data Center Operations / IT Infrastructure team . In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert-level management of data center network infrastructure, including complex troubleshooting and advanced configuration in a mission-critical environment . You will join a dedicated team of infrastructure experts focused on maintaining high-availability network fabrics and supporting seamless cross-platform integration .
What you'll Do
In this role, you will:
  • Responsibility 1: Manage and optimize data center network infrastructure by designing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure peak performance and capacity .
  • Responsibility 2: Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vendors, and internal server and storage teams to resolve escalated incidents and integrate cross-platform solutions .
  • Responsibility 3: Ensure compliance with data center security standards and organizational policies by managing firewall rules, Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations, and network access controls .
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 8+ years of experience in network operations, with at least 4 years specifically in a senior or Level 2 support role .
    Strong knowledge of enterprise networking protocols and architectures , including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN), and spine-leaf architecture .
  • Proven ability in advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving within high-availability environments, including performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and managing complex Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) issues .
