.NET Core MVC Developer With Application Support Responsibilities
Location: Chandigarh
US shift between (6:30 PM to 9:30 AM).
1. Role Overview
eClerx is seeking a talented and versatile .NET Core MVC Developer with hands-on application support capabilities to join our Technology team in Chandigarh. This is a primarily development-focused role with a secondary responsibility for L1/L2 application support.
The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications built on ASP.NET Core MVC, while also serving as a technical resource for day-to-day support of deployed applications. This dual-function profile ensures continuity between development and operational stability, making this an ideal role for engineers who enjoy both building software and owning its post-deployment health.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Application Development
Design, develop, and maintain web applications using ASP.NET Core MVC following eClerx coding standards and best practices.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs with internal systems and third-party services.
- Write clean, modular, and scalable C# code with a strong focus on testability and maintainability.
- Work with Entity Framework / LINQ for data access layer design and optimization.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate UI components with backend business logic using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Write and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies for high-performance data operations.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms including JWT, ASP.NET Identity, and OAuth.
- Configure Dependency Injection and Middleware within .NET Core applications.
- Manage code using Git and Azure DevOps; actively participate in code reviews and pull request processes.
- Deploy and maintain applications on IIS, Azure, or other applicable hosting environments.
- Support CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance for automated build and deployment workflows.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Collaborate with business analysts and QA teams to ensure requirements are accurately translated into software deliverables.
B. Application Support
Serve as the first technical escalation point for deployed .NET Core MVC applications, handling L1 and L2 support incidents raised by operations or business teams.
- Diagnose and resolve application errors, configuration issues, API failures, and integration breakdowns in deployed environments.
- Monitor application health, investigate performance degradation, and implement fixes or coordinate escalations as required.
- Assist with database-level diagnostics including identifying long-running queries, connection timeout issues, and data access anomalies.
- Maintain and update SOPs, troubleshooting runbooks, and incident logs for supported applications.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, QA, and vendor teams for issues that require cross-functional resolution.
- Escalate unresolved issues with clear incident summaries, root cause hypotheses, and diagnostic data to senior engineers or L3 owners.
- Support user access management, role assignments, and agent/user onboarding within deployed application systems.
3. Technical Skills Required
Core Development Stack
- ASP.NET Core MVC and C# advanced proficiency required.
- Entity Framework Core / LINQ data access patterns, migrations, and performance optimization.
- SQL Server complex query writing, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
- REST APIs and JSON-based web services design, documentation, and third-party integration.
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap front-end integration competency.
- Dependency Injection, Middleware, and .NET Core pipeline configuration.
- Authentication & Authorization JWT, ASP.NET Identity, OAuth 2.0.
DevOps & Version Control
- Git and Azure DevOps branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews.
- CI/CD pipelines build automation, deployment configuration (Azure, IIS, or Docker).
- Basic knowledge of Azure services, containers, or microservices architecture (added advantage).
Support & Operations Tools
- Familiarity with application monitoring concepts and log analysis.
- Basic understanding of API gateway behaviour, timeout patterns, and connection diagnostics.
- Comfort working alongside DBA and infrastructure teams during incident resolution.
- Experience with ITSM / ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, or equivalent).
