Review project scope, tank drawings, repair plans, and inspection checklist.
Verify calibration status of all NDT instruments (UT, MPI, DPI, RT accessories, ).
Ensure consumables (penetrants, developers, magnetic powders, couplants) are within validity.
erform Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging (UTG) for shell plates, roof plates, bottom plates, and nozzles.
Carry out Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI/MPT) on weld joints, patches, and crack-prone areas.
Conduct Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT/LPT) for small weld repairs, nozzle welds, and surface defects.
Follow approved NDT Procedures as per API 653 / ASME / Client specifications.
Record thickness readings with plate locations, sketch references, and grid markings.
Prepare MPI/DPT report with acceptance criteria and defect location mapping.
Submit daily NDT progress reports to the Site Engineer / QC Engineer.
Maintain instrument calibration certificates and NDT operator qualifications (ASNT/ISNT).
Support creation of final NDT dossier for client submission.
Ensure NDT is performed strictly as per approved procedures and standards.
Verify surface preparation before NDT (cleanliness, accessibility, lighting).
Ensure traceability between NDT reports, weld numbers, repair history, and tank drawings.
